The Practices

Most of their practices are done inside the temple. The Daoist priest performs the rituals with the help of four assistants. With that, during the rituals mistakes should not be made. Their rituals re very colorful, filled with music and incense. Their services can take up to two days long. The basis for their sacred text is the Daodejing.

A Daoist can worship at  home without ever attending a festival and throughout its history, there are a lot of instances of this happening.

It began in China in the 6th century BCE.  Laozi founded this religion. His real name is Li Erh. With this it has exerted a great influence during the Tang Dynasty (628-907).  After Laozi, Zhuangzi, further developed the Daoist principles
